‘Love Is Blind’ season 3’s Colleen Reed and Matt Bolton split up

Love Is Blind stars Colleen Reed and Matt Bolton, who met during season 3 of the Netflix reality dating show, are ending their marriage.

The couple have released a joint statement on Instagram announcing their split, writing, “We wanted to share something personal, and this is not easy to do, but after nearly four years together, we’ve decided to end our marriage and move forward on our own paths.”

Reed and Bolton have been separated “for some time now” as they worked through things privately, they said in the statement, published on Friday.

“This was an incredibly difficult decision, not one we made lightly,” they wrote in the statement. “It came with a lot of thought.”

Reed and Bolton tied the knot on the Love Is Blind season 3 finale in February 2022, although the Dallas-based couple did not move in together until June 2023 because neither wanted to break their lease.

“To kind of adapt to now living with someone, it takes a while, it takes a second — and both of us didn’t want to rush changing that, all of the sudden expediting that for other people,” Reed said at the time. “We practically live together already. He basically stays at my place because it’s closer to work. I don’t think he’s gone to his place once in the past month.”

Love Is Blind premiered on Netflix in February 2020 and featured an unintentionally pandemic-ready premise: Singletons would interact without actually seeing one another, their “dates” unfolding while they were in individual pods separated by a translucent barrier. The couple would meet in person only after they got engaged.

The show, which concluded its eighth season in March, deviates from Netflix’s normal binge model by rolling out new episodes weekly.

Reed and Bolton included a mention of their reality show roots in their statement, writing, “We met in the most unique and unexpected way, and we’ll always be grateful for the love and memories we shared. There’s not one thing we would change, and we continue to have deep respect and care for one another.”

Of the Love Is Blind season 3 contestants who paired up on the show, only one couple remains together: Alexa Alfia and Brennon Lemieux got hitched in the show’s finale and welcomed their first child, a daughter, in July 2024.

Season 7 couple Ashley Adionser and Tyler Francis announced their separation in January 2025, with Adionser telling PEOPLE, “While I had hoped for mutual understanding and transparency in our relationship, it has become clear that our paths are no longer aligned, making it impossible for me to continue in this marriage.”
