Brad Pitt’s new buzz cut isn’t going anywhere. In fact, you may see more of it now that promotion for his new Formula 1-inspired movie appears to be in full swing.
On Monday, June 9, the actor, 61, made appearances at two events in Mexico City to promote his new race car drama F1 (out in theaters and IMAX June 27), and there was no hiding of his shorter hairstyle, which was on full display.

The Oscar winner’s first stop was at a photocall at the Sofitel Reforma hotel. Ready for summer in his salmon pink suit, baby blue shirt and white mules, Pitt posed with director Joseph Kosinski, producer Jeremy Kleiner and his costars Damson Idris and Kerry Condon.
He changed into a more muted menswear look for an evening photocall at Toreo Parque Central. His second outfit consisted of a gray suit, the blazer accessorized with a handkerchief, a white shirt and pointed-toe boots.

This isn’t the first time fans are getting a glimpse of Pitt’s dramatic hair transformation. In May, he was spotted rocking the dramatic cut while driving around Los Angeles. He was also pictured with the look in his GQ summer issue cover that was released that month.
However, it is the first time the star is publicly showing off his new look, which he’s also been wearing with a short gray beard and mustache.

What made Pitt’s hair change so surprising was how much it resembled his old hairstyle from the early aughts. Although he’s experimented with a variety of longer styles in his day, the actor famously went nearly bald in the early 2000s, around the time Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Ocean’s Twelve were released.

Before committing to a major shave, Pitt was photographed in October on the set of F1 with a grown-out crew cut of sorts. Prior to that, he kept his honey blonde locks in a shorter style with some texture on top. It’s not confirmed if Pitt took the plunge for a new role, so it’ll be interesting to see how long his buzz cut era lasts.
Pitt’s latest big-screen project sees him playing former driver Sonny Hayes, “who returns to Formula 1 at APXGP, a fictional team on the grid,” per a synopsis. A trailer for the movie depicts Sonny’s comeback on the track and more conflict moments between him and Damson Idris’ character Joshua.
