Here’s how many current LSU baseball players were at 2023 CWS

LSU baseball heads to Omaha for its second College World Series in the last three years. The Tigers take the field at Charles Schwab Stadium to face Arkansas on Saturday.

Eight Tigers were apart of the 2023 national championship game and return to Omaha for the second time. They’ll look to lead the purple and gold to its eight title in program history.

Of the returning group, Josh Pearson made the biggest impact during the 2023 championship series against Florida. His over-the-shoulder catch in the bottom of the tenth inning for the second out prevented the Gators from advancing their runners, thus saving the game. LSU won the game 4-3 in 11 innings.

Jared Jones and Gavin Guidry both saw limited action during the Tigers’ 2023 trip. Jones recorded an at-bat in each game against the Gators and had a hit in game three. Guidry pitched in the final two games. Through three innings of relief work, he allowed three runs on four hits and finished with four strikeouts. The right-hander sat out 2025 with an injury.

Relief pitcher Chase Shores was also sidelined with an injury during the 2023 championship run. Fellow hurlers Jaden Noot and DJ Primeaux were also rostered.

A regular starter on the current team, Ethan Frey made one plate appearance during the Florida championship series. Outfielder Mic Paul was also true freshman on the squad. He recently entered the transfer portal and isn’t currently rostered.
