Sky Germany reports that Chelsea have intensified their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitiké.
Chelsea are reportedly eager to finalise a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitiké as soon as possible, aiming to have him available for the Club World Cup, which begins in mid-June.
According to Sky Germany, concrete talks between the player’s representatives and the Blues took place again on Monday.
Eintracht remain in a strong negotiating position, with the 22-year-old French forward under contract until 2029.
The Bundesliga club’s board member for sport, Markus Krösche, is said to have set a €100 million price tag on Ekitiké.
However, it’s uncertain whether he would even be fit to feature at the Club World Cup. Ekitiké was recently forced to withdraw from France’s squad for the U21 European Championship due to persistent back problems.
