- Kelly Ripa slowly slumped to the ground during a live conversation with an AI program.
- “Are you happy, Gemini? You’ve killed one of the hosts,” Ripa said from the floor.
- Ripa’s collapse marks the latest in a growing onslaught of morning TV collapses.
The spirit of on-air collapse that’s long plagued The View‘s Whoopi Goldberg has officially wafted over to the Live With Kelly and Mark set to possess daytime TV icon Kelly Ripa.
Full Ripa Collapse™ occurred live on the air Monday morning, with the cohost falling to the ground at around 9:51 a.m. local time — a moment that will surely live in historic notoriety.
The moment came during a riveting discussion with Google Gemini, an artificial intelligence program that interview guest Lance Ulanoff unleashed on both Ripa and her cohost husband, Mark Consuelos, though Ripa quickly lost interest.

“I’m sitting here with two very intense hosts, and I’m really nervous, what should I do?” Ulanoff asked Gemini, who responded, “It’s totally normal to feel nervous in that kind of situation. Just remember to breathe and focus on the conversation, not the people.”
Ripa, over it already, leaned over to ask Gemini, “Can you teach my friend Lance how to meet actual people?”
The audience laughed as Ulanoff quipped, “I sometimes feel like the hosts are losing interest in what I say,” all while Ripa slowly collapsed to the ground, sliding down in her char before tumbling to the ground to lay flat on her back while Gemini could be heard in the background artfully observing that “sometimes conversations can drift.”
From her new post on the ground, Ripa jabbed, “Are you happy, Gemini? You’ve killed one of the hosts.”
Ulanoff attempted to save the scenario by informing Gemini, “There’s somebody lying at my feet. I think I bored them to death. What do I do?”
Without missing a beat, Gemini responded, “That’s definitely alarming. First, check if they’re okay. If they’re unresponsive, call for help immediately.”

Laughing as she stood up, Ripa joked, “Okay, maybe Gemini does have a sense of humor.”
Ripa’s long, slow fall to the ground follows Goldberg’s storied history with on-air collapses, which have recently included reactions to fellow View cohost Sara Haines comparing her favorite snack to “crack” and, naturally, the antics of Donald Trump.
