“It’s a $70 bottle,” she added. “I just went looking for something else and happened to notice the bottle was gone, so I asked my husband and he said, ‘Oh, I gave it to my sister the other day. ’ ”
With the bottle now in her sister-in-law’s possession, the wife is upset that she has to get her own sister another gift.
“He’s saying I’m unreasonable and he’s blaming pregnancy hormones,” she said, before asking the forum if her feelings of being mad are valid.

In a poll under her Mumsnet post, 97% of the nearly 1,700 voters selected the “You are NOT being unreasonable” voting option.
“He needs to replace it — it wasn’t his to give away as you’d told him,” one person replied. “He can go and buy the exact same bottle, out of his own pocket, before you need it for your sister’s birthday.”
Another reader added another layer to what he should do, commenting, “He should apologize and replace it, not blame you and ‘hormones.’ ”
