New Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers was ripped into by infamous Steelers hater and longtime sports personality Colin Cowherd.
On the latest episode of The Herd, Cowherd began his rant by calling Rodgers “weird” — before claiming he was the Steelers’ third choice, noting that both the Rams and Vikings passed on signing him. He then blasted the four-time MVP over his Jets exit interview:
“Even Aaron Glenn with the Jets, a defensive coach — they don’t have a quarterback. First thing he did was get Aaron Rodgers — and that weird meeting, almost uncomfortable meeting — out of the building. All these secret marriages, ayahuasca, darkness retreats, passive aggressive nonsense, and conspiracy theories — weird doesn’t work, because weird is unpredictable.”
Cowherd would finish his Rodgers rant with a harsh shot at the future Hall of Fame QB:
“When you have all these offensive coaches, who have watched Aaron Rodgers — probably at some point worshipped Aaron Rodgers — who would have loved to, in his prime, have had Aaron Rodgers — all say, even at a discount double check, ‘Nah, no thanks. Aaron’s aging the way weird ages.'”
Cowherd is no stranger to controversy — but love him or hate him, this Rodgers criticism feels almost too personal.
Rodgers has tuned out the noise over the past few years of his career — and even at deafening volumes heading into Pittsburgh, the Steelers QB will be looking to take the team to new heights in 2025.
